Why Employ a Dental Hygienist at your practice?
Hygienists can provide a great contribution to your Dental Practice and generally take some pressure off the Dentist.
With several new training schools for Hygienists opening up, more and more practices are weighing up the advantages of hiring a hygienist.
Hygienists Contribution:
Hygienists production with items that include:
*Scale, Clean and Polish, including preventive procedures such as Saliva testing and fluoride application.
*Root planing
*Tooth whitening (take home kits)
*Mouthguards
*Fissure sealants
*Treatment plans
*Helping with concerns that the patient has with future treatment.
*Could bring in a target of approx. $1000 per day to the practice.
And of course the dentist will always be the diagnostician of the practice but generally patients have no concerns being treated by a friendly hygienist and sometimes will ask for a second opinion on there treatment. This is were having a great relationship and confidence in your hygienist will work well and you can then provide the complete optimum care to your valuable patients.
