Wuchopperen Health Service is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health service providing holistic care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We have no accommodation but in the salary package there is included $150.00 per week for accommodation. There are many flats, houses, apartments, shared accommodation, backpackers hostel Our mobile dental unit usually operates 48 weeks per year travelling to Ravenshoe, Mareeba, Atherton, Mossman and Innisfail. An average of 120 patients per month receive treatment through the mobile program. We have one afternoon session per month for General anesthetics conducted by a Brisbane based Doctor who frequently travels to Cairns. In these sessions we generally treat young children suffering from the effects of dental neglect. Dental education is an extremely important aspect of our work. This is delivered in the form of kindergarden visits by the dental team and short oral hygiene talks at preschools. All members of the dental
